Wetlands are Wonderful Contest
Local student wins Wetlands are Wonderful poster contest at District, Area and State level.

The Iredell Soil and Water Conservation District recently held it annual poster contest for students grades 3 through 6.


Theme
The theme for this year was "Wetlands are Wonderful."


 Winners

This year, poster entries came from students in 5th and 6th grade. First place was presented to Naomi Edward, a 5th grade student from Woodland Heights Elementary School.


Area 8 and State Level Competition

  • At the Area 8 competition level, Naomi Edward placed first and continued on to the State level where she also earned first place.


Awards

  • At the District level, Ms. Edward was awarded $25 and a certificate of accomplishment. Once placing first in the Area 8 level competition, she was awarded with $30, in addition to a certificate. And last but not least, Naomi was awarded $200 for earning 1st place at the State level. She also received a plaque with a framed certificate. Huge congratulations to Naomi!
